OUR TOWN Q&A with Stacie Capone (playing Mrs. Soames--town gossip)

1. You're sitting at Mr. Morgan's drugstore counter.  What would you order for an old-time-y treat? 

A chocolate egg cream, of course - my parents both grew up in Brooklyn and it was favorite treat we used to make at my grandparents' with their seltzer bottle and Fox's U-bet Syrup. 

2. Of the four kids in the play, who did you resemble, and why? (Emily, Wally, George, or Rebecca?) 

Rebecca, because she's a bit of a know it all...I may be a "bit" of a know it all.  After all, I am a Leo.  We're perfect and we know everything!
 

3. Our tag line for the show is "A Sweet And Tart Slice of Small Town Life." If we made a kind of pie in tribute to your character, what kind of pie would you be? 

I wanted to answer this one because I love dessert, but I couldn't seem to come up with the perfect pie.  I turned to my really good friend who also happens to be an amazing pastry chef.  I don't think I could have come up with a better pie, so I give you her words: "the very rare sour cherry pie whose crust is painted with hidden dark chocolate."

OUR TOWN Q&A with Nina Leese (Mrs. Gibbs, George's mother)

Well, I have to say that I never expected to be cast in a production of OUR TOWN, and am thrilled that I have been!  I adore Mrs. Gibbs and happy to bring her to life with this production.

I remember seeing bits of the 1940s movie version on the late show growing up, but it was usually the cemetery scenes and they were a bit creepy, I thought.  I'm so happy to find out that it's not creepy at all, and rather a hoot!  It also turns out that I have more in common with the play than I thought.  I grew up in New York but spent 6 summers at sleep away camp in New Hampshire (Campt Birchmere in Antrim, to be exact).  I remember going to Sunapee every summer to the Craftman's Fair and climing to the very top peak of Mount Monadnock at the age of nine!  Those summers were the best of my life and I can't imagine a better backdrop of my youth than New Hampshire.

The question of which profession in Grover's Corners that I'd like to try?  None.  I adore taking care of my husband and children and my lovely home.  I can't imagine anything else.  Have you seen the heliotrope growing in my garden?  That doesn't just happen on its own, you know!  Stop by and smell it when you're in the neighborhood and stop in for a cup of coffee.

The druggist, because he is a hub of the activity around him.

A vanilla Coke!

An apple pie, because you can't get any more American than that!

OUR TOWN Q&A with A.J. Heekin (playing Joe & Si Crowell and Sam Craig)

1. Of all the occupations in Grover's Corners, which would you most like to attempt?

I'm especially covetous of Simon Stimson's job.  Not because I would like to direct a choir, but exclusively because he gets to work while (not so) surreptitiously drunk.

2. If you were making a time capsule of your life to put in a cornerstone, which 3 items would you include?

Firstly: my pride and joy one-speed bicycle.

Secondly: my Propecia supply.  I'm praying that when they cure male pattern baldness, this will become a relic.

Thirdly: my head shots.  Nothing becomes date and hilarious more quickly than a headshot.

3.  Which birthday would you most like to re-live, and why?

My fifteenth birthday.  The day "The Fellowship of the Ring" came out in theaters.  No further explanation required.
